Cancer Prevention and Support

Nutritional therapy for people living with, beyond, or at risk of cancer.

Evidence-informed support that works alongside your medical team, during treatment, in remission, and for prevention.

What is Integrative Oncology?

A cancer diagnosis changes everything. It also raises a flood of questions about what you should eat, what to avoid, and how to give your body the best possible conditions for treatment and recovery. Nutritional therapy cannot replace your medical care, but it can work meaningfully alongside it, addressing the aspects of your health that oncology teams rarely have the time or remit to explore in depth.

I work with adults with any solid tumour cancer, at any point in their journey: during active treatment, in recovery, in remission, or focused on reducing the risk of recurrence.

How I Can Help

During treatment

Treatment takes a significant toll on the body, on energy, digestion, immune function, and weight. Nutritional therapy during this phase focuses on supporting your resilience, managing the nutritional impact of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery, and keeping your body as strong as possible through what can be a prolonged and depleting process.

In remission and beyond

Living beyond cancer involves a different set of questions. How do you reduce the risk of recurrence? How do you recover gut health and immune function after treatment? What does long-term nutritional strategy look like for your specific cancer type? This is where a personalised, evidence-informed approach, one that takes your individual history, genetics, and current health into account, makes a real difference.

Prevention and risk reduction

For people with a significant family history, a known genetic predisposition, or a previous cancer diagnosis, nutritional therapy offers targeted strategies to address modifiable risk factors. I hold an additional qualification as a Nutrigenomics Practitioner with Lifecode Gx, which allows me to incorporate genetic insights into nutritional recommendations where relevant.

Functional Testing

Where relevant, I can incorporate functional testing to build a more detailed clinical picture. This is always discussed in the context of your individual situation — testing is a tool, not a requirement.

DUTCH Hormone Testing

DUTCH Hormone Testing analyses sex hormones, adrenal function, and hormone metabolites in detail. This is particularly relevant for hormone-driven cancers — including breast, ovarian, endometrial, and prostate — for understanding how the body is processing and clearing hormones, and for guiding nutritional and lifestyle strategies around recurrence risk. For prostate cancer specifically, DUTCH provides a detailed picture of androgen metabolism that can inform nutritional support both during and after treatment.

Comprehensive Stool Analysis

Comprehensive stool analysis provides a detailed assessment of gut microbiome composition, digestive function, and markers of intestinal health. This is valuable during and after treatment, particularly where chemotherapy or antibiotics have disrupted gut health, and as part of any longer-term immune recovery strategy.

Lifecode Gx Nutrigenomic Testing

Lifecode Gx nutrigenomic testing examines how your individual genetic variants influence the way your body processes nutrients, regulates hormones, manages inflammation, and responds to environmental factors. As a BANT-registered Nutrigenomics Practitioner, I can interpret and apply these results within a personalised nutritional programme.

All testing is optional and arranged directly through my practice. Costs are separate from consultation fees and are discussed transparently before any testing is recommended.

An Important note about scope

My private practice offers nutritional therapy as a standalone service, not as part of a medical practice. I do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or clinical oversight. Everything I recommend is designed to complement and work alongside the care provided by your oncologist and medical team, and I share my recommendations with your medical team as standard.

BREAST CANCER — LOOKING FOR DOCTOR-LED SUPPORT?

https://mosaic-medical.com/service/cancer-services/

I also work within the Mosaic Medical Breast Cancer Service, where nutritional therapy is delivered as part of a doctor-led, integrative clinical programme. If you are living with or beyond breast cancer and would like the reassurance of direct medical oversight alongside nutritional support, Mosaic Medical offers exactly that.

Mosaic Medical is the UK’s first nationwide doctor-led Functional Medicine group practice. Their breast cancer service brings together medical and nutritional expertise in an integrated clinical setting.

My Credentials

I am a Registered Nutritional Therapist with specialist training in oncology nutrition, completed in 2022. I am listed on the BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) register of practitioners qualified to work in cancer care, and I am a member of both the British Society for Integrative Oncology and the Society for Integrative Oncology.

I am also a qualified Nutrigenomics Practitioner with Lifecode Gx (2023), with a particular interest in how genetic factors influence cancer risk, treatment response, and long-term health.

All recommendations are made within the scope of nutritional therapy and shared with your medical team as part of a joined-up approach to your care.

Who This is For

This service may be right for you if:
  • You are currently undergoing treatment for a solid tumour cancer and want nutritional support alongside your oncology care
  • You are in remission and looking for evidence-informed strategies to reduce recurrence risk
  • You have a strong family history or genetic predisposition and want to address modifiable risk factors proactively
  • You are managing the longer-term effects of cancer treatment on your gut, immune function, hormones, or energy
  • You want a personalised approach that takes your full clinical picture — not just your diagnosis — into account

BOOK A DISCOVERY CALL

If you would like to understand whether nutritional therapy could support you or a family member, I offer a free discovery call. It is not a commitment — just a conversation about where you are and whether my support would be a useful fit.

Please Note

Nutritional therapy does not diagnose, treat, or cure cancer. All information and recommendations provided are not a substitute for professional medical advice. I work in an integrative capacity, alongside and in communication with your medical team.

We have been working with Jessica for a while now for my son’s eczema and many food intolerances. We have come a long way with him tolerating a lot more foods whilst previously being on such a limited diet. We have seen a huge difference in his skin too. One thing we love about working with her is that she is highly knowledgeable about how the gut works, what food works well and how to carefully introduce food to increase tolerance. We would honestly be so lost without her support. She provides timely responses if we have any concerns and always has such an empathetic approach if we have a little bump in our journey.

I would recommend Jessica to any parents struggling with their childs eczema or any individuals out there trying to figure out eczema, want to naturally heal through foods and identifying triggers to get relief in your flares.

I have no hesitation in highly recommending Jessica. She really knows her stuff! I first consulted her six months ago with lack of appetite, lack of energy and depression, not unrelated to having recently become a widow. Right from the start I was very impressed at the way Jessica really listened to me during her consultations, writing very thorough and detailed reports afterwards with her holistic recommendations . Six months later I am eating better, have more energy and even able to go dancing regularly (which is not bad for a 74 year old!) Thank you Jessica

Jessica has helped save my sanity when I was suffering from unexplained symptoms. She very quickly identified that this could be the side effects of an overdose of supplements and once I discontinued these, I felt better quickly. I continued working with Jessica on other food and lifestyle questions and always found her extremely helpful, patient and knowledgable. I would recommend her to friends and family.

Jessica was a fantastic support when my 1 year old developed severe eczema. We worked together to identify the root cause of her symptoms and Jessica advised an easy to follow, realistic and successful protocol for us to follow to help her manage this. My daughter’s skin significantly calmed down within weeks and although it’s been a long journey her eczema has now disappeared. Jessica has extensive knowledge on eczema and created a personal plan for us to follow. She was always available and willing to help and reassure where needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for support with nutrition or skin issues. Thank you so much!

After struggling with severe eczema nearly all my life and trying countless steroid creams/emollients prescribed by dermatology consultants I have finally been able to take back control of my skin through Jessica's trigger identifying diet. The skills and tool kit she has provided me with have been life changing and I'm confident I have everything I need to continue my journey without the help of a professional. Jessica has helped me to feel empowered through understanding my body and I am very grateful.
Jessica has helped me and my son so much with some persistent eczema on his face. She put together a highly comprehensive plan and considered all aspects of his diet, routine and lifestyle. She has checked in several times since our appointment and I felt she really cared about his health and well-being. Highly recommend to any parents whose child is suffering from an allergy or skin disorder!
